Albert 1er was the perfect choice for my trip - I was very pleased with it! As with other reviews, the hotel looks exactly like the photographs; and I really appreciated this, as this was in big part why I chose it. I stayed in a Double Room with Garden View, in February (off season). The refurbished creative design was great (it all looked fabulous), with really nice lighting options and more, and my bedroom had the right balance of space and a cosy atmosphere. It was perfect for my trip, and my booking included a complimentary upgrade as it was off season, which I really appreciated. It's rare to find a great price, great location and great design all in one! Best things about the hotel were: location, design, cleanliness (it was spotless, and the cleaners were there every day), the staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful at all times (something I also really appreciated as I was travelling alone), the 24 hour manned reception, and much more. The hotel room also had all the key practical things I needed, as I had some work to do while staying there: kettle, desk, safe (which worked and was easy to use), wifi, great blackout blinds etc. The shower was also excellent, with both a rainfall shower and a handheld one - it was bliss; and the bathroom was pristine clean, with a useful under-sink shelf to store your wash bag. The location is excellent - right by the old town, overlooking Jardins Albert Premier (a good spot if you want to watch the concerts!), and 2 minutes walk to the beach and Promenade Anglais. There are lots of restaurants close by, and there's a fabulous Artisan bakery just a 5 minute walk away, which does salads and other meals (Parmigiana etc.) you can take away, for meals on the go. The bus stops right outside the door, and it's just a 3 minute walk to the tram, taking you straight to Nice Ville station and other key destinations. So easy!

Absolutely fantastic location. I wanted to be close to the sea and the city center, and this hotel delivered on both. The hotel was impeccably clean, though the elevator could use some renovation. The rooms were stylish and clean. However, staying on the first floor was a bit unpleasant as the noise from the breakfast preparation area started around 6 AM, which was quite disruptive. The air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was really nice, with large towels. The shower was modern and clean. The breakfast room, which can also be used as a lounge during the day, is lovely, with beautiful light and a nice view. The view of the reception area, however, is a bit cramped, tucked away in a corner, and doesn't make a great first impression. The staff deserves better working conditions! Overall, I was very satisfied and with the excellent price-to-quality ratio, I won't be looking for another hotel in Nice, where I regularly return.

My spouse and I had the chance to stay at this hotel for four days. The hotel’s location was absolutely excellent. From the airport, we simply took bus line +12 and got off right in front of the hotel, and the same on the way back. We didn’t opt for breakfast because the hotel’s location was so convenient that we could try a new café every day. If you use the tram, it’s a 7-minute ride to the train station, or a 20-minute walk. Our room faced the sea with an amazing view and had a great balcony. Most importantly, the room was clean, spacious, and unlike most European hotels, it was quite large. The staff were kind, respectful, and helpful.

This hotel is a gem! Beautiful character building from the early 1900’s. Bright, elegant & spacious room, unbeatable location! Warm, welcoming & friendly staff! Stunning views (book a Privilege Seaview-room! It’s 100% worth it!) Super comfy bed & perfect pillows, power-shower. Top-quality bathroom-products from Nuxe. Sparkling clean. I loved the art work on the wall:) Location, location, location! Just steps from the beach, and everything is nearby. I absolutely loved my stay at the Albert 1er! What a gorgeous hotel! Will definitely return!

The bedding was nice quality. Big soundproof windows that open easily. Nice, automatic shutters for black- out. Quality heavy curtains. Our room was spacious but I noticed other rooms weren’t . It was a beautiful room. Very clean. Good feeling. We were able to play cards in the breakfast room in the evenings. The location was close to old town and lots of shops and restaurants, and the shore of the Mediterranean.
